HomeSlice Artisan Breads is a Cottage Bakery located in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
How did we get started?
When I was first gifted a sourdough starter I left it in the fridge for 4 months. I had read all about the "right way" to bake perfect sourdough and it felt too complicated to fit into my busy life as a wife and mom. Thankfully curiosity and my love of creating delicious food for my family won out and I gave it a try. And you know what? PERFECT bread is complicated! Funny thing though, my family loved every single "failed" loaf. So I gave up on perfect bread and decided to make pretty good bread instead! That is how HomeSlice Artisan Breads was born. I want to share good bread with my family, friends and now my community.

Our Story
In 2021 I moved from my lifelong home in the High Plains of Colorado to the beautiful Upper Peninsula town of Kingsford Michigan. The small town experience is unforgettable! There is so much tradition and community here in the UP and my family has received so much love and hospitality.

I have been cooking and baking since I was a little girl; being one of eight siblings, meals occupied a lot of our time! I love making really good food that people enjoy. My bakery currently specializes in artisan sourdough bread.
